Pain into Purpose
I’ve been a bit MIA as of lately. Couple things for all you warrior families out there… listen to your body. I thought that I was managing my stress well, handling life’s ups and downs pretty okay but apparently I was wrong. I’m good now, but please, please, PLEASE give yourself grace and know it’s not selfish to put yourself first every now and then to avoid your body forcing you to!
On a more exciting note I will soon be finding out if I, with my Rainbow Hair Hats, have become an initiator fellow for the Initiative Foundation‘s fellowship program to help rural MN social enterprises grow and make a difference in their communities. I have so many things I want to do, and people I want to help with this business of mine. I envision an office with couches for people in the community to come and get information and educational materials on seizures and epilepsy, host different speakers, create a safe space for anyone that needs a listening ear for their experience with epilepsy and be a support to validate them when they feel alone. Have a space where I and others like Miss E can come find employment in a safe, silly, and fun environment packaging our hats and mailing them out to warriors and/or hospitals across the county. And knowing that we can help support the organizations that were there to help support us when we needed it most. I can’t wait to find out and if I make it, I can’t wait to see where we are in 2 years after the fellowship is done. Thank you all again so much for the support that I have received as I’ve gone from having a simple passion project to a business I hope can make a difference in the world for families like ours. I wanted to give our pain a purpose and I know it’s to be of service to others… Click here to see me giving my pitch on Finalist Day!
Sending love and positive energy to you all!
